• Accounting, banking and finance courses

  Our accounting, banking and finance courses are developed with professional institutes and industry experts. As well as gaining an academic qualification, you’ll develop the skills needed to stand out in a competitive industry.

  Courses blend research-informed teaching with practical experience, supported by close links with employers. The department teaches across a range of disciplines, courses include finance, banking, accounting, wealth management and trading.

• Business

  Study your way as you build experience to develop sought-after skills like leadership, change management, resilience and adaptability. Alongside your degree, you’ll have the opportunity to apply for an industry-recognised leadership and management qualification from ILM by City & Guilds. What’s more, you’ll learn in brand new purpose-built facilities, like our business lounge and trading floor. All at a Business School that’s in the top 6% of business schools globally accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB).

• Engineering

  On our engineering courses you’ll learn in a real-world environment. Based in the £11 million Hertha Ayrton STEM Centre, you’ll use industry standard tools and equipment, from flight simulators, wind tunnels and automotive workshops to robotics labs. You’ll also get the chance to work on real projects and undertake a year's work placement. Courses cover a wide range of specialisms, including aerospace, automotive, electrical, manufacturing and food engineering. Many are accredited by professional bodies, and all are informed by partnerships with major employers.

• Computing

  Our hands-on computing and IT courses give you a head start in a competitive industry. You’ll learn using some of the latest technology, and get practical experience through our links with major corporations, and digital media specialists.

  The Department of Computing teaches courses in a wide range of specialisms, including computer science, information systems, networking and software engineering.

• Biosciences and Chemistry

  Sheffield Hallam University’s Department of Biosciences and Chemistry offers you the opportunity to study academically challenging courses in a vibrant, supportive, research-informed environment. Our accredited BScs in chemistry and biological sciences provide flexible learning pathways to prepare you for a wide range of graduate employment or further study opportunities. Post graduate programmes include the specialisms of cancer biology, molecular microbiology and pharmacology & biotechnology whilst our higher degree apprenticeships provide vocational pathways into the healthcare sector.
