Prepare to study and live in the UK

Are you holding an offer from a UK university or curious about the UK higher education system? The Study UK campaign is offering a free, four-week online course to help international students get ready for their UK education.

Hosted on FutureLearn, this course covers everything you need to know:

  • UK teaching methods, assessments, and course structures
  • tips for studying in English
  • practical advice for living in the UK
  • insights into the support available to international students.

By the end of the course, you’ll feel more confident, prepared, and ready to make the most of your UK study experience. Plus, you’ll have the chance to connect with like-minded students – and maybe even make a few friends before you arrive.

Managing your wellbeing when studying in the UK

Study UK and Newcastle University have created a wellbeing course to help international students:

  • navigate living in a new culture and studying in a new environment
  • develop essential self-care habits and effective stress management
  • feel confident seeking help in any situation.

This three-week course, hosted on FutureLearn, blends videos from Newcastle University tutors and international students, interactive live sessions, and moderated forums. Delivered by mental health experts and trained students, it’s designed to provide practical tools and build your confidence.

Preparing for work

Are you an international final-year student, recent graduate, or alumni? Study UK’s free online course, Preparing for work, is here to help you take the next steps in your career.

This three-week course provides expert advice on:

  • communicating the value of your UK education to employers
  • building your professional image and evaluating your strengths
  • writing effective CVs and cover letters, preparing for interviews, and planning your career
  • finding jobs that match your skills and working effectively across cultures.

With insights from established alumni, careers counsellors, and employers, you’ll gain practical skills to navigate the global job market. There are also plenty of opportunities to interact with other international graduates and alumni, while friendly educators guide you throughout the course.
