Founded in 1583, the University of Edinburgh is one of six ancient universities in the UK and an international centre of excellence in research, teaching and innovation. The University is made up of three colleges: Arts, Humanities and Social Science, Science and Engineering, and Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.
