The course includes the opportunity to undertake a research placement with an international focus and provides an introduction to the legal and normative concepts underpinning international commercial law as well as the challenges this area of law will face in the coming years.

Students can also specialise in Financial Law and graduate with an LLM in International Commercial Law with a specialisation in Financial Regulation.

Mediation is fast becoming a core skill. Professionals in business, public bodies and the law are increasingly expected to resolve disputes without the delay and expense of litigation. For those working in international settings, the core modules can be combined with classes such as International Human Rights Law to provide the foundation for work with charities and non-governmental organisations committed to conflict resolution.

This is the only course of its kind in the UK; students gain real-world experience through our innovative Mediation Clinic and come from a range of professional backgrounds including law, psychology, social work, education and management.

This course offers graduates in law and other disciplines, or those with relevant professional qualifications, the opportunity to develop a detailed understanding of human rights law at UK, European and international levels with a focus on real-life contexts.

Engage with academics, policy and legal practitioners at the forefront of human rights leadership in Scotland and abroad and there is the opportunity to be awarded credits for a field dissertation based on research within non-governmental organisations, in the UK or overseas.

The Faculty of Engineering has a number of courses available within this scholarship category. These include our popular Environmental Engineering and Sustainability and Environmental Studies programmes. The course in Environmental Engineering aligns with industry demands and meets the needs of urban regeneration and environmental protection. The Sustainability and Environmental offers a cross-disciplinary approach to the study of environmental management, policy, the circular economy, sustainability and sustainable development in both developed and developing countries.

Our Sustainable Engineering suite of courses combine sustainability subjects with specialisms in: renewable energy systems and the environment, energy systems and the environment, offshore renewable energy, marine technology and chemical processing.
