• Master of Architecture (Part 2 ARB/RIBA)

  The MArch is a two-year, full-time, design-based course with a collaborative, making and ecological approach. This design-based professional qualification is accredited by the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) and the Architects Registration Board (ARB). The course philosophy has many connections and develops on from the four key issues identified in the BA (Hons) Architecture (ARB/RIBA part 1).

  The course aspires to innovation, collaboration and a connected learning experience through studio practice that is both professional and critical, preparing the student to enter architectural practice with innovative and progressive approaches. The ecological approach through practice, performance, drawing and modelling are supported and encouraged through the first year, with research, theory and professional practice integrated into the final year Thesis Design project. This is a studentr led complex design project that needs to fulfil the design, representation, practice, theoretical and technical requirements of the course.

• MA Historical Costume

  The MA Historical Costume course is designed to introduce students with a pre-existing interest in historical clothing to a range of historical costume practices and the fundamentals of research in the field of dress and costume history. It encourages to develop an individual specialism in the field that's aligned with your own artistic and professional aspirations, allowing to demonstrate an advanced level of research and creative output within that specialism.

  This course can be studied full- or part-time from September or full-time from January.

• MA Graphic Design

  MA Graphic Design encourages designers to explore ways of developing understanding between co-communicators. This course approaches all forms of graphic design as triggers for thinking and feeling. By interrogating your practice at the cognitive level, you’ll explore how such things as a metaphor, and the framing and blending of ideas, drive communication.

  Through self-initiated research and experimentation, you’ll be encouraged to engage with the world, and find insights that generate understanding and guide positive action

  Students apply to the course predominantly from graphic design courses but are welcomed from a variety of backgrounds (if they can show an aptitude for typography). Students may have studied photography, architecture, illustration, interaction design, three-dimensional design, fine art, or, subjects such as journalism, philosophy, psychology, anthropology or sociology.
