Medicine

Our Faculty of Medicine is a national leader in medical education with an outstanding reputation for our combined expertise in research and teaching.

Electrochemistry

The Southampton Electrochemistry Group has a leading international reputation for both research and education. Research spans the breadth of modern electrochemistry from fundamental studies of electrode surfaces and reactions through to applications in sensors, batteries, and fuel cells. The group has been active in education in Electrochemistry for over 50 years.

Our MSc in Electrochemistry and Battery Technologies builds upon our international reputation for excellence in research and education in Electrochemistry by offering an advanced, postgraduate education from the fundamental principles through to applications in energy storage, energy conversion and Electrochemical Engineering. With a strong emphasis on the fundamentals and techniques exploited in electrochemistry and battery research, the course will prepare students for a successful career in industry. It is also a fantastic steppingstone to PhD studies.

Arts and Humanities

Our Winchester School of Art is an international centre for ideas and innovation and has a long history going back almost 150 years. Our MA Fashion Marketing & Branding programme will enable you to engage with the challenges facing a global fashion industry, develop skills to understand and build fashion brands; use design-led solutions to meet modern marketing and management challenges.

Research and education of the highest quality define Humanities at the University of Southampton. We are passionate about investigating what makes us human, from language and music, to philosophical debate and history and culture in all its forms. On our MA English Literary Studies (Postcolonial and World Literatures) programme you’ll explore the interrelations of text, theory, and culture across the field of English literary and cultural studies. We’ll work with you to:

• raise your awareness of the historical and critical reception of literature in various periods
• explore the role of literature in a contested cultural framework
